Threejay is born at the end of the year 2011, a band consisting of pianist Joan Solana, bassist Josep Colls and at the drums Joan Carles Marí.

After the amazing reception of their self-titled debut album “Threejay”, the band presents its second studio effort “Our Voint of Piew”. The quest for a unique and personal sound through influences from rock, electronica, folk or pop as well as the bands own material make 3J an unsual group within the current jazz-scene. In this second album they incorporate and play with new musical elements of a more electronic character maintaining the acoustic colour of each instrument.

The promotional tour for their debut album allowed them the chance to present it on a variety of stages in France, Andalucía, Ibiza and Cataluña with the following honourable mentions: Jazz Forum Annecy with sax-player and singer Eva Fernández, La Pedrera with trumpet-player David Pastor, Festes de la Mercè, Festival Connexions with guitarist Jordi Matas, Festival de Jazz de Banyoles, Nova Jazz Cava de Terrassa, Festival de Torroella de Montgrí, Auditori de Vilafranca, Festival de Jazz de Ibiza (on two separate occasions), CaixaFòrum Barcelona and the Centro Cultural el Born, just to name a few.

They were also chosen by Joventuts Musicals to appear in their 2015/2016 catalogue, next to the Ramon Prats Quartet, giving them the chance to perform at the Auditori Caputxins in Figueras or the Festival de Jazz de Palafrugell, amongst others.
