Introduction
Based on the cult classic romantic comedy, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days: The Musical follows the story of Andie Anderson as she attempts to write an article for Composure magazine on how to lose a guy in 10 days. in order to prove to her boss that she is indeed a competent journalist. Along the way, she meets and falls in love with Benjamin Barry, a notoriously commitment-phobic ad executive who has bet his colleagues that he can make any woman fall in love with him in just 10 days. As their bet progresses, Andie and Benjamin begin to realize that they might be right for each other after all.
The Plot
Andie (Kate Hudson) is a magazine writer who is trying to prove to her boss that she can write a great article by finding a guy, dating him, and then writing about the experience. She meets Benjamin (Matthew McConaughey), who she thinks would be the perfect candidate, and sets out to make him fall in love with her so she can write her article. But things start to go wrong when Andie falls for Benjamin for real. Can she still finish her article and get her happy ending?

Andie Anderson is a young woman working for a women’s magazine called Composure as an advice columnist. She is tasked with writing an article entitled “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” in order to prove that all women are capable of driving men away if they try hard enough. In order to write the article, Andie must find a man and make him fall in love with her within ten days, and then dump him.
Benjamin Barry is a young advertising executive working for the same magazine as Andie. He makes a bet with his boss that he can make any woman fall in love with him in ten days. When Andie’s column comes out, Ben sets his sights on her as his target.
Andie and Benjamin meet and, after a rocky start, begin to fall for each other despite their better judgment. However, as the days tick by, Andie begins to employ more and more of the “ techniques” from her column in order to lose Ben, while Ben desperately tries to hold onto Andie despite her best efforts. Will they be able to figure out their feelings before it’s too late?

The music of “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days: The Musical” is by Harry Connick, Jr. and book by Michele Asselin. “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days: The Musical” is a stage adaptation of the 2003 romantic comedy film of the same name, which was based on the novel The Gadfly by journalist Laura Ziskin.
The Lyrics
